Where and how often do your Groups meet?
Our Interest Groups, we just call them Groups, meet in a variety of places. Some use the Village Hall or other meeting venues in Burton Joyce and the surrounding villages. Others meet in members’ homes, or if they are activity based, at dedicated venues or specific locations where the activity will take place. We have listed the locations that we use most often on our Where We Meet page.
The Groups work to a monthly timetable. The frequency and duration of the meetings is decided by each Group for itself. The Groups usually meet on weekdays during daytime hours, but there are some evening and weekend activities.
Do you provide transport to your Monthly Meetings and Group Meetings?
Unfortunately, we do not. However there is often a fellow member who is able to give you a lift. There are frequent buses through Burton Joyce, and it also has a station on the railway line between Nottingham and Lincoln. We also use the community minibus for excursions and organized outings. If you have any mobility issues then we will do our best to help.
Are your venues accessible to wheelchair users?
The venue for our monthly meetings and most of our main venues are accessible and we will endeavour to assist as far as possible. Some meetings are in members’ homes so access may be more limited. Please contact us if you have any special requirements.

Are there any age limits or restrictions to be a member?
U3A membership is not related to a specific age but to a period in one's life (the third age) after the second age of full time employment and parental responsibility. There is no lower age for membership and you can remain a member as long as you want. All that we ask is that you pay your annual subscription as it falls due.
